Sažetak
The characteristics of the System of Scientific Information of SR Croatia (SSI), being a subsystem of an integral science information system, are reviewed. The concept of SSI and its goals are discussed with the emphasis that SSI is based on the principles of the UNISIST program. The projects of SSI and the links between them are described as well as the development phases and their technical realization. A modern SSI is necessarily based on the application of informatics methods and techniques, allowing the users - especially scientists - to acquire information indispensable for research.
