Sažetak
Introduction: Obesity is a strong risk factor for diabetes, and patients with type 2 diabetes have increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Altered metabolism, inflammation and insulin resistance are pathological features presented in both diseases. In accordance with that, some anti-diabetic agents seem to be capable of improving cognition in Alzheimer’s patients. Aim of our research was to assess changes in hippocampi in obese rats without and on anti-diabetic medications. (...)
