Sažetak
Ferredoxin NADP+ oxidoreductase (FNR) catalyses the last step of electron transfer in photosynthesis, from reduced ferredoxin to NADPH. FNR is trolled to the photosynthetic membranes of vascular plants by the integral membrane thylakoid rhodanase-like (TROL) protein. FNR-TROL interaction is dynamic and can presumably partition electrons downstream of photosystem I (PSI) between energy-conserving and energy-dissipating pathways. We have recently revisited the role of TROL in sustaining high-efficiency photosynthetic electron flow and the induction of protective mechanism dubbed non-photochemical quenching (NPQ). The results of TROL inactivation mutants inquisition by using the latest technologies of photosynthesis measurements will be presented.
