Sažetak
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the overall survival in patients with one or more nodules of HCC who underwent TACE and couldn't undergo curative treatment. 184 patients with unresectable HCC were treated with 312 TACE procedures. TACE is a safe and effective palliative locoregional interventional procedure by which it is possible to successfully control the progression of HCC in more than 70% of patients and improve their life quality compared to conventional therapy. In a small number of patients TACE has a surative effect. The process is also effective for downstaging into Milan criteria for OLT.
