Sažetak
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the use of the word ‘postmodernism’ within management and organization studies (MOS). Postmodern discourse within MOS is often used as an umbrella term, which covers a number of different types of theorizing and research practices. Postmodernists express scepticism towards the concepts of truth, science, rationality, and causality. They believe that reality is socially constructed and linked to a specific historical and cultural context, as well as that it is inseparable from our cognition and language. Postmodernism questions ontological and epistemological issues, but often in a manner referred to as problematic and confusing, unscientific and not sufficiently plausible, sometimes even as heretical. The aim of this study was to extract papers that directly refer to postmodernism within MOS. We have conducted a bibliometric analysis in the Web of Science Core Collection and identified and analysed a total of 118 articles within which ‘postmodernism’ as a term, is used in the titles, abstracts and/or keywords. Besides, our intention was to map the intellectual structure and find common threads and intellectual twists within the selected collection of articles. We derived 36 themes based on a large set of keywords, and carried out a multiple correspondence analysis which provided us with a two-dimensional model illustrating the themes’ based on their importance and proximity.
