Sažetak
Advance technologies made possible a big development from 2G and 2,5G (General Packet Radio Service - GPRS) in mobile wireless networks to third generation mobile communication system, 3G, which was widespread provision of multimedia services and applications to users. The main goal for mobile wireless multimedia was concept anytime and anywhere. To solve this concept it was a pressure to enhanced terminals functionality and technology capabilities, new standardisation, transmission between the respective environments, good Quality of Services - QoS, increasing in the maximum transmission bit rates and network evolution towards IP. Third Generation UMTS is not able to support broadband services since it limits the maximum transmission rate to 2 Mbit/s, which is only achievable under restricted mobility conditions. Mobile Broadband Systems (MBS) are able to provide transmission capacities up to 150 Mbit/s to mobile users and become the step towards 4G, which will provide broadband transmission capabilities.
