Sažetak
Every society has its own set of practices, ideologies and values which we call culture. Culture is transmitted from the elders to the young and it is unavoidable part of education. Education can be carried out through informal upbringing or specialized institutions like schools. Schools are supposed to act according to the national curriculum of a country. Apart from the national curriculum, schools also act through „the hidden curriculum“. The hidden curriculum is a term that refers to general atmosphere of the school, relations between the employees, informal pedagogical procedures, grading procedures… This paper is based on the comparison of the atmosphere and differences, of an Indian school and Croatian schools. The purpose of the paper is to make us think about conscious and unconscious behavior of the people working in education and think about behaviors that are not supporting quality education. Self emancipation, freedom of thinking, and understanding of the world that surrounds us are set as the basic principles of quality education. The conclusion of the paper is that the principles that are mentioned are not part of the Indian education because of the strict authority of the employers and employees.
