Sažetak
The differential equation of thin rectangular plate bending is derived in this paper. An approximation of derivatives of a function w = w(x,y) by finite differences, including a fourth-order derivative, is carried out as well. The central differences are used. The differential equation of a plate is written down in the finite difference representation. The different boundary conditions are also represented using finite differences. Finally, one numerical example is solved which solution is compared with analytical one. A convergence of a numerical solution is investigated by increasing a number of the mesh points.
