Sažetak
The standard Characterization and verification of ultrasonic thickness measuring equipment (HRN EN 15317:2014) specifies requirements for procedures and acceptance criteria for assessing the performance of instruments for measuring thickness using pulse-echo ultrasound. However, the standard gives freedom so that the procedures can be conducted in ways that are not well suited toward the end users of the equipment. By doing so there is a possibility that the end user gains false confidence in the equipment if the data gained from the characterization report differs from everyday user’s practice and/or the user does not perceive the data critically. Depending on the circumstances how the equipment will be used by the end user, there is a possibility of erroneous measurement results in everyday use of the equipment.
