Sažetak
In this invited talk I presented the basic entry processes, as well as metacognitive and generative processes in building/raising a skilled reading. In this respect, the most important is to develop combinatorial capabilities of a skilled reader. Aim of such a reader is to automatize certain processes and liberate the mind for more complex ones (build awareness of polisemy, wordwebs, grammatical frames) and to enhance gradual rise in depth and extent of reading/writing skills (an opposite to “An inch deep and a mile wide”). Among the main tasks for the COST action is to construct the language-specific literacy diagnostic tools based on prototypical pivots of the vocabulary and syntax integration and to put into life societal actions (interventions, strategy focused instructions, coordination of efforts with libraries and independent reading groups etc.)
