Sažetak
Studies of halogen bonding have largely focused on cocrystals of perfluorohalocarbons. It has recently been reported that this type of cocrystals can be used as a model system for studying storage of volatile halogen bond donors, such as iodo-substituted perfluoroalkanes, in crystalline solids [1]. In this work we report two cocrystals of 1, 3-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (13tfib), which is a liquid at room temperature, with imines derived from ov (o-vanillin) and two amines: 3-aminopyridine (3amp) and 1- aminonaphthalene (1an). Unlike the more commonly used perfluorohalocarbons, 13tfib is represented in the Cambridge Structural Database by only 14 datasets for multicomponent solids. The cocrystals were obtained by both one-pot mechanochemical synthesis [2] and the solutionbased method. The results of single crystal X-ray diffraction experiments show that the dominant supramolecular bonds in the (ov3amp)(13tfib) cocrystal are I··· Ohydroxy and I···Npyr halogen bonds while in the (ov1an)(13tfib) cocrystal two I···O halogen bonds are formed, I···Ohydroxy and I···Omethoxy.
