Sažetak
Reflection interference contrast microscopy (RICM), either used as a quantitative microinterferometric method or to visualize stained and labeled microscopic structures, offers wide possibilities for application in investigating living cells and model systems in the life sciences. High spatial and temporal resolution makes it particularly suited for measurements of dynamic events with high precision. The main advantages of RICM are simplicity of setup in comparison to other interferometric techniques, high lateral and out- of-plane resolutions, and suitability for dynamic measurements when coupled with digital detection and signal processing methods. RICM can be implemented using a conventional or a confocal microscope, and readily combined with transmission and fluorescence microscopy techniques.
