Sažetak
This paper focuses on the analysis of phraseological units found in the lyrics of Bon Jovi. The analysis is based on the classification system proposed by Rosemarie Gläser and all 100 PUs found in the lyrics are classified according to types of PUs suggested by her classification. The paper also deals with various insights into the area of idiomaticity and basic assumptions made by Chomsky, Wallace L. Chafe, Rosamund Moon and Adam Makkai related to this area, which are represented at the beginning of the paper. The goal of this paper is to represent conventional types of PUs and exemplify each of these types on examples found in the lyrics of Bon Jovi. In the central part of the paper a thorough analysis of PUs is represented both in the form of a paragraph and a table. Furthermore, the aim of this paper is also to help reader understand how various researches done within the phraseological field helped forming the basic criteria for dividing characteristics of PUs. Moreover, it helps to acknowledge the difference between idiomatic and non-idiomatic expressions. According to that, by bringing examples of PUs from lyrics, the paper shows the application of knowledge about idiom structure to a certain type of written text, in this case the music lyrics.
