Sažetak
This paper explores basic principles of adaptational process of most recent borrowings from fashion terminology entering from English into the Croatian language on the orthographic and semantic levels. In the principle of adaptation of Anglicisms on the orthographic level Rudolf Filipović (1996) starts from the fact that the basic form is formed in four ways: 1) according to the pronunciation of the model ; 2) according to the orthography of the English word ; 3) the combination of pronunciation and orthography and 4) the influence of intermediary language. Regarding the adaptation of the Anglicisms on the semantic level, there are three degrees of adaptation with four subdreeges: 1. Zero extension ; 2. Restriction of meaning: a) in number of meanings and b) in semantic field ; 3. Expansion of meaning: a) in number of meaning and b) in semantic field.
