Sažetak
This paper deals with the obvious technological trick using sophisticated knowledge and new technologies which can produce some new esoteric products using NORM residues and cover the global market. There are unthinkable many esoteric areas through which humans are seeking to find an ultimate energy manipulation sources to empower spiritual powers. Development of new technologies enables humans to get more familiar with understanding and control of energy. The new field of how to reuse the NORM residues from a certain “dirty” industries has upraised into the esoteric universe producing new products with the purpose of “energizing” it´s surrounding to enhance human wellbeing. We have analyzed one, at the moment most popular esoteric product, the “quantum scalar energy pendant” in order to expose the material composition from which it was produced raising the discussion in the sense of ALARA culture principle in radiation protection of the population. We have used the standard accredited protocols using the laboratory mill for preparing the samples for gammaspectrometry of natural radionuclides, standard protocol for chemical analysis using high precision mass spectrometer and protocols of recognizing the main constituents in the pendant material mixture. As predicted, the main constituent in the pendant material mixture responsible for the “quantum energy” irradiated from the pendant into the space was a typical NORM constituent, thorium. It was added into the pendant material mixture with the obvious purpose to produce enough “free” ions, electrons, which can produce the “visible” effect of “warming”. The whole product, pendant, is a high technology product in which knowledge of porcelain manufacturing, polishing, laser engraving and knowledge about the sintering of clay was weaved in. Adding thorium was very nattily hidden in material declaration under the statement: “negative ion powder”. The declaration is partly true because pendant is constantly producing negative ions, not because of any mysterious universe energy hidden in it, but because the natural radioactivity of it´s constituent, thorium which was acquired from the NORM industries as byproduct. Such new products, intended to be commercially spread over the global market consisting of NORM materials when shipped in large quantities can undergo the strict global radiation protection and nuclear security trading rules. This global trend is to be taken into account while discussing about the ALARA culture using NORM for a new product (material) development especially when it is used for human health wellbeing purposes. The acknowledgements will be stated in details in the final paper.
