Sažetak
The requirements for authorized bodies which perform verification of measuring instruments are prescribed by the competent authority with a special legal act treating legal metrology field. The prescribed criteria for acquiring the status of the authorized body can be mirrored through fulfilling requirements resulting from standard ISO/IEC 17020, or through gaining the status of the accredited body, and additional criteria. The first phase is referring to gaining the status of the accredited body, and the second phase is relating to fulfilling additional criteria. The authorized body is gaining the status of the accredited body after the successful implementation of the accreditation process, which is proved by the accreditation certificate according to standard ISO/IEC 17020 (the first phase). The second phase is referring to fulfilling additional criteria prescribed by the competent authority in order to gain the status of the authorized body (the second phase). Fulfilling prescribed criteria, the authorized body is proving the necessary competence for verification of measuring instruments from legal metrology field. This paper describes all necessary steps which must be taken by an authorized body in order to fulfil general and technical standard requirements and additional criteria. A special attention in the paper will be paid to risk analysis of the authorized bodies.
