Sažetak
Throughout history the concept of family has undergone significant changes, many of which influenced the very foundations of this basic social institution. Social movements have disturbed a century-old stability of family structure, function and value. Today, modern family functions in constant changes, in transformation, crisis, in constant shaping and forming. Crisis has become the main characteristic of the time we live in and the consequences of educational crisis are especially difficult. In modern society, common values are lost and the direction for raising a child is also lost under the influence of media, market and time that parents can dedicate to their children. Today's modern parenting emphasizes and requires constant learning of new skills regarding raising and caring for children as well as a skilful usage of knowledge in child education.
