Sažetak
The focus of the paper is exploration of the process by which reflection, described as turning attention to our experience, constructs leader’s competencies. Competence is based on ability to acquire mental schemes and to recognize the interconnectedness between them. The appreciation of complex web of cause – effect relations is primarily achieved by reflecting on our experiences and looking at what consequences one mental schemata have on the other in a particular situation and over time. The leader’s reflection process is based on the apprehensive observation of the emotions, experiences, actions, and responses. By adding these inputs to the existing knowledge base, new knowledge and meaning are created. The underlying assumption of the paper is how reflection, as a process of learning, analyze mental routines (strategies acquired by experience) and hence manage the process of gathering and interpreting evidence on which the reconstruction of the past is based.
