Sažetak
The paper begins by briefly introducing Croatian klapa singing in general and the neoklapa phenomenon of the popular culture in particular. In the second part, a discussion of what I call the ‘Mediterranean turn’ in Croatian identity representation/re- articulation provides the necessary ideological, rhetorical, and discursive context for the analysis of visual tropes of Dalmatianness in neoklapa music videos that constitutes the central, third part. Finally, the results of this analysis are compared to analyses of visual tropes of Dalmatianness in Croatian tourist discourse.
