Sažetak
The geological framework of the Republic of Croatia determined its relatively simple structure of mineral construction resources. The Dinaric karst region is characterized by the production of limestone and dolomite both as aggregates and dimension stone, also due to the occurrence of flysch sequences it is a major cement producing region. In the Pannonian part of Croatia major production of gravel and sand is determined by the existence of the alluvial plains of the rivers Drava and Sava. Also Neogene deposits of lake-type sediments are the major source of brick clay. The non-metal production in Croatia is limited to some 10 mineral commodities whose economic production and geological potential is high. Production of most commodities especially mineral construction raw materials has a positive trend in the period between 1995 and 1999.
