Sažetak
The problems linked to intensive dairy production associated with serious health, nutrition, welfare of dairy animals and environmental problems cannot be efficiently tackled solely with individual discipline approach. Founded by the European Program Cost the "DairyCare" (http://www.dairycareaction.org/) provides the opportunity for European countries, professionals adn scientists who work in different discipline (e.g. animal health, animal science, engineering, ecology, biology, epidemiology, social sciences, etc.) not only to be put in touch, but also to learn different dairy animal health critical points discovered and to exchange ideas. Participants in DairyCare, work together in three Working Groups (WGs). WG1 purpose is to develop novel analytical methods, introduce new biomarkers and validate them. Applying and developing novel accelerometer, visual imaging and global positioning system based methods analysing feeding behavior reproduction and locomotion is WG2 goal. WG3 is conducting a system-level welfare assessment and management by development of acquisition, filtration and extraction tools to create a bio-logic frameworks that will identify individual dairy animal problems and purpose actions to be applied before the problems become significant for animal well-being, health and production. The aim of the network is also to simplify the connection of different disciplines, address all plausible risks in order to increase the status of overall dairy animal health, productivity and product quality, consumer satisfaction and environmental sustainability. Secondarily, dissemination of established best- practice technologies, including from dairy cow sector into niche sectors working with non- bovine and novel dairy animals which was largely achieved already.
