Sažetak
This essay is concerned with one aspect of the intellectual and cultural history of the Second World War in Southeastern Europe, namely, with certain Croatian intellectuals and their relationship towards the Independent State of Croatia (Nezavisna Država Hrvatska, NDH). Its main focus is on the right-wing humanists that had a prominent role in the newly established state, choosing as a case study notorious historian Kerubin Šegvić (1867-1945), philosopher Stjepan Zimmermann (1884-1963), and linguist Blaž Jurišić (1891-1974).
