Sažetak
Occupant behavior is generally recognized as a significant factor which contributes to the uncertainty of building in terms of an energy performance (especially in the building facilities built according to the nowadays standards related to the building energy performance in general). Behavioral impacts are strongly connected with the psychological and culturally characteristics of occupants. There are various influential factors that are affecting user behavior, such as for example the level of knowledge regarding the energy efficient products and technologies, a level of education, users' age, profession, present economic status and a general psychological profile of the occupant. The relationship between thermal environment and the occupants is quite complex and usually intertwined with the technical impacts (i.e. with those kinds of impacts that are not directly affected by users’ habits and behavior). This paper gives a brief overview of previous work regarding this perplexing subject. Moreover, it elaborates and examines the human aspect, respecting energy behaviors in the workplace for typical office buildings. Finally, it proposes future experimental and field work that will ensure progress in this challenging research topic.
