Sažetak
The focal issue of the paper is the systematic equivalence of culture-bound lexical units, constituting gaps in a cross-linguistic perspective. Several Polish items, i.e. mohery, słoiki, Warszawka/warszawka, kaczyzm and ZUS, are discussed to illustrate these phenomena by determining their Croatian equivalents.
