Sažetak
The real value of laparoscopic appendectomy in the acute appendicitis is still under debate. We performed first laparoscopic appendectomy in 1993. In this work we are reviewing and analysis medical records of the first 100 cases of laparocopic appendectomies: - patients characteristics (age, sex, weight, previous abdominal operations, ASA, duration of complaint - preoperative examination - operative procedure including operative time and intraoperative problems - conversion rate - PHD - postoperative course )(analgesic usage, return of bowel function, complications, duration of postoperative hospitalization, return of normal activity and work, satisfaction with op). We have concluded that laparoscopy is a method of choice in the acute abdominal disease, specially when a diagnosis is uncertain. Our results indicate that appendectomy can be successfully and safely performed laparoscopically. In contrast to open appendectomy, the advantages for patients are all the benefits of the minimally invasive surgery, like less postoperative pain and disability, better cosmesis, a shorter postoperative hospital stay and a more rapid return to normal activity and work
