Sažetak
Social skills training aims to help people with mental disorders to maintain those physical, emotional, social, professional and family situations that are important to them. The aim of this paper is to present a program of social skills training with patients suffering from depression. Participants in the program are people who were hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic at the time of participation in the program. The study included 36 patients of the experimental group and control group of 36 persons. The groups were equalized according to diagnostic criteria and the number of participants. Pretest was conducted as a self- assessment of social skills before joining the program, and post test at the conclusion of the program. Method of execution of the program is social skills training, which consists of 12 group meetings, involving 12 members and two social educators as group leaders. Inclusion in the group work was preceded by an individual interview with each prospective member. Participants were informed about the presentation of this paper that is approved by the hospital ethics committee. Expected results are related to strengthened social skills of the experimental group, which makes it an essential part of the rehabilitation program of depressed patients.
