Sažetak
Shelter for Abandoned Animals – Zagreb is a shelter with no-kill shelter policy, with an overall capacity of 200 dogs. Shelter changed management system in 2009, due to merger with the city ZOO. During and after the merger, shelter had to change and apply new ways of shelter management, upgrade infrastructure and human capacities. With upgrading of the management structure, human capacities and infrastructure, shelter has become capable of receiving more stray dogs in total numbers. Welfare of animals has been upgraded thru continuous education of handlers and catchers, as well as veterinarians and vet technicians. With engaging of PR agency and volunteers shelter was able to raise more funds, upgrade the level of activities (kindergarten and elementary school education) and to become a representative and a leading shelter in Croatia, and wider region.
