Sažetak
Studies and analyses of even partialy implemented ITS aplications from traffic safety aspect state approximately 30 percently reduction of traffic accidents number and road traffic participants risical behaviour. That fact essentially influence work of an important but until now almost complitly neglected stakeholder group - insurance companies. Basic thesis is that traffic safety increasing lead to decreasing of number and paid compensation amounts for resulted damages in road traffic so that insurance companies have concrete interest in the introduction of ITS applications. The paper gives an overview of current situation on insurance companies market in Republic of Croatia by insurance types related with road traffic and also possibility for premium structure change according to expected liberalisation, european practice and ITS implementation. Also will be mentioned examples and sugesstions of using adequate ITS applications for that purpose.
