Sažetak
The amount of fat tissue and its distribution, gender, age, as well as physical inactivity are commonly associated with cardiovascular and musculosceletal diseases. Random selection was used to select 103 physiotherapy students. Body type was determined using bioimpedance, on GAIA 359 device. The aim of this research was to establish the number of students at risk of diseases related to adiposity based on their morphologic characteristics. There were 56 females and 47 males, average age 19. Average height of females was 167, 5cm and weight 59 kg, and average height of males was 182 cm and weight 79, 3kg. Average values for females BMI – 20, 9kg/m2, WHR – 0, 72, PBF – 23, 5%, and for males BMI 23, 9kg/m2, WHR – 0, 80, PBF – 18, 75%. There were 16, 07% females and 14, 89% males in category obese, and 7, 14% females and 23, 4% in category overfat. Spearman's coefficient showed strong correlation between BMI and PBF in females (0, 870) than in males (0, 622), as well as between BMI and WHR in females (0, 847) than males (0, 623). Mann- whitney test showed statistical significant differences between females and males in LBM (8, 18), SLM (8, 27), BMI (4, 05), WHR (3, 93) andPBF (-5, 07) and none for BF (0, 51). Based on the results there is a certain number of students at risk of diseases related to adiposity.
