Sažetak
New information and communication technologies condition the rapid adaptation and implementation of new business philosophy of intellectual capital as well as intangible assets of the company. Incompatibility of the education system and market needs becomes a problem many activities in most EU countries. In Croatia this problem is even more encouraged by outdated concepts of education in which knowledge isn’t led to skills. These problems and new economic relations impose to managers at all levels and in all kinds of companies a series of tasks and challenges ; especially those related to the acquisition, selection, motivation, knowledge improvement and measuring of employees efficiency. In a contemporary global economy people have become the key success factor and the basic element of competitiveness in the global market of labor and capital. Therefore the problems, new trends and challenges faced by intellectual capital management are determined and analyzed in this paper. It is specially pointed on a set of managerial activities and tasks associated with the development and nurturing of human resources who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of business goals.
