Sažetak
It is a generally accepted fact that waste is matter or object discarded by its owner, or else which the owner intends or needs to discard. But, at the same time, waste consists of a number of useful primary materials with their own economic value. Waste management is a complex task that requires good organisation abilities and cooperation among numerous participants in private and public sectors. European Union has recognized the need to switch to the circular economy which will ensure protection of the environment, but could also increase the efficiency and the value of products to reach the desired goals of sustainable industry and circular economy. But, how can such complex issues be simplified for the general public which is, in the cycle of circular economy, situated at the end and/or the beginning of the process. Very important segment of the circular economy in countries, like Republic of Croatia, is how hazardous waste can become important part of circural chane. In that terms in this paper it will be present targets and WEEE recovery and recycling results.
