Sažetak
Systematic air quality monitoring at international, state and local levels in the Republic of Croatia is carried out as per its legislation and in line with the EU CAFÉ Directive. Systematic air quality monitoring, in combination with modelling, is a comprehensive tool for the control, assessment and anticipation of air pollution and research on its effects on human health. The European Union recommends contemporary approaches to the development of advanced information systems that can combine standard methods, complex procedures and environmental management standards. The main purpose of research was to define an Integrated Information Framework for Realtime Air Quality Monitoring. First, air quality monitoring procedures was established in order to define a number of functionalities and information system architecture. Then, a procedure for developing an information system based on the following serviceoriented concepts was defined: automated monitoring process and air quality assessment streams, service-based activities managed by people, information alarms and the possibility of amending business rules. The modelling of a service-oriented architecture was done according to the SOMA method and applying the UML diagram. In order to show multi-layered serviceoriented system architecture, the reference IBM SOA architecture instanced with services coordinated with processes, service components and information model was used. The result was a prototype for the execution of service-oriented urban air quality monitoring and assessment processes indicating the usability of the proposed methods and models and the efficiency of data from various sources, all with the aim of real-time space-time reporting using data for the Zagreb. Real-time air quality monitoring is done through continuous queries over the streams of data from automated stations and a web-application then uses a web-service to show the map of the Zagreb with air quality indices CAQI which are adapted for the purpose of informing public on air quality and its impact on health.
