Sažetak
*Introduction Clinical research is a crucial part of health science. It is intended to add medical knowledge. Clinical study (CS) is performed to produce a new treatment or to improve existing one. *Material and Methods An online survey was performed to investigate attitudes towards performing CS. *Results In total, 62 participants were included in the survey. There were 41 medical doctors (66.13%), 5 patients (8.06%), 8 medical workers, 3 lawyers and 3 teachers. Forty participants (64.52%) were between the ages of 25-34 years old, 9 (14.52%) between 35-44 years old, 7 (11.29%) between 55-64 years old, 2 between 45- 54 years old, and 2 over 65 years old and 2 below25 years old. There were 72.58% females and 27.42% male respondents. Most participants were from Croatia. By place of work, 29 (46.77%) worked in clinical hospital, 8 (12.9%) in general hospital, 4 in general practice, 4 in universities, and other. Interestingly, 29 (46.77%) participants were already involved in CS, 11 (17.74%) were involved once, 8 (12.9%) were involved 2-3 times, 5 (8.06%) were involved 4-5 times, 2 were involved 8 times or more. Remarkably, 48 participants (77.42%) found their work important in performing CS. In total, 54 (87.1%) participants expressed their interest in involvement in CS in the future. 49 participants (79.03%) responded that CS should be a part of regular daily work, 33 (53.23%) responded that CS should be academically honoured, and 41 (66.13%) responded that CS should be financially compensated. Significantly, sixty out of 62 participants (96.77%) agreed that CS are beneficial for patients. *Conclusions Clinical research is the essence of future medicine. According to the results of the survey performed, there are generally positive attitudes towards CS. The survey participants showed interest in involvement in CS. Innovative solutions can be achieved only by involvement of multidisciplinary professionals. Acknowledgments: Authors would like to thank all participants for collaboration on this survey.
