Sažetak
In Croatia there is no special retirement system for workers in arduous or hazardous jobs ), but there is special treatment for such workers within the general pension system, based on a special legislative framework consisting of several laws and encompassing 92 jobs or groups of jobs in a total of 28 sectors, as well as 11 groups of occupations in which physiological function declines with age. Author provides legal analyses of Croatian pension policy towards such workers, as well as data on their number, retirement patterns and pension benefit levels. In the end, author gives de lege ferenda recommendations with the purpose of striking the necessary balance between prolonging working lives and facilitating early exits for frail workers.
