Sažetak
Spherical magnetic particles that can be manipulated by an external magnetic field have been attracted much attention during the past decades. Recently, some progress has been made in preparing magnetic particles with precisely controlled size and shape. Herein, a novel and versatile synthesis method of anisotropic magnetic microparticles based on photo- and soft lithography is presented. Compared to other methods, the replica molding allows fabricating of non-spherical shaped magnetic particles (few microns in diameter). The fabrication is high throughput: approximately 〖10〗^5 "particles/" 〖"cm" 〗^"2" can be synthesized with one mold, furthermore the particle size and shape can be varied by using different molds. The particles synthesized with this method are highly responsive to the magnetic field generated by magnetic tweezers: they can be rotated, tilted, flipped and assembled into one-dimensional chains or two dimensional arrays.
