Sažetak
This paper presents some achievements of Croatia oil professionals, and the significant technological, economic and ecological accomplishments in the development and application of modern technology, improving and rising quality, safety, and efficiency in the process of exploration, production and transport of oil & gas. The national oil company INA-Naftaplin has approached the problems of environmental protection and treatment of technological waste most seriously and rationally: in accordance with economic principles, but also in line with the principles of environmental protection; respecting world best practice, the most advanced professional and scientific achievements, and of course, respecting the actual needs and possibilities of the surroundings. Such an approach has enabled not only long-term efficient hydrocarbon production, but also the realisation of ecological projects that have ensured highly efficient environmental protection. To that end, INA-Naftaplin has invested considerable funds, considering that the most important objectives, other than profit, are safety, quality and environmental protection.
