Sažetak
This study presents the results of dragonfly fauna research in the Banovina region of Croatia. The research was conducted in the period between August 2010 and September 2011 at 21 localities. A total number of 32 species was recorded, indicating high species richness in comparison to the total number of 67 species known in Croatia. Through-flowing pond in Zeleni dol was locality with the greatest number (53%) of recorded species while at the pond in Jabukovac only one species was recorded. The most abundant species was Platycnemis pennipes while the rarest were Coenagrion ornatum and Brachytron pratense. Seven of the recorded species are listed on the Red list of Croatian dragonflies. Zoogeographic analysis of the recorded dragonfly species showed the domination of the Mediterranean elements which indicated complex glaciation and interglaciation processes during the geological past in Europe, when the Croatian territory served as a refugium.
