Sažetak
The paper adresses the issue of the articulation of Yugoslav socialism in the contemporary literature and culture. The collapse of socialism and disintegration of Yugoslavia by the war scenario influenced the course of a specific local transition where change of social system went hand in hand with a thorough and rapid metamorphosis of a new collective identity. After the first wave of denial and institutional revision of socialist past in the early 90’s when war was in the focus of the contemporary artistic work, entering 2000 more and more artistic works emerge which are dealing with socialist past as a site of struggle and negotiation between collective and individual identity. The paper will show how those works produce varieties of figures of remembrance and specific politics of memory on Yugoslav socialism in which the motive of the disintegration of Yugoslavia has the highest affective value.
