Sažetak
The special issue of the Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology (Volume 32S, pp. S1- S42 ; ISSN 0946-672X) comprises >150 abstracts from >30 countries (including developed, transitional and developing countries) submitted for XI ISTERH 2015, a joint conference of the International Society for Trace Element Research in Humans (ISTERH) and the Nordic Trace Element Society (NTES). The conference was organized in collaboration with the Croatian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (HDBMB) and received an ample support in human and technical resources by the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health in Zagreb, Croatia. The conference was held in Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel, Dubrovnik (Srebreno), Croatia from 18-22 October, 2015 continuing the series of ISTERH and NTES meetings and having in 2015 their joint conference for the fourth time. The leading theme 'Recent Advances in Trace Element Research in Health and Disease' had been highlighted to cover a range of important, recent aspects of trace element research in different areas including molecular biology and biochemistry, toxicity, analysis and speciation, nutrition, public health, and clinical application in specific disease and their treatment.
