Sažetak
The paper analyzes the process of forming the Italian-Yugoslav border in the aftermath of World War II. The border, which establishment started in 1945 in the Council of Foreign Ministers, comprising the Foreign Ministers of the United Kingdom, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, France, and the United States, and continued at the Paris Conference of Foreign Ministers in 1946, was one of the most complex border issues discussed before that international body. The Treaty of Peace with Italy, which was signed on 10 February 1947, was a compromise over territorial claims between Italy and Yugoslavia, whereas the disputed territorial questions were finally solved only by signing the memorandum of understanding in London in 1954. In this paper we analyze the claims of both parties and the role of the representatives of the Allied powers, placing particular emphasis on the role of Russian representatives.
