Sažetak
The Croatian Dermatovenereological Society of the Croatian Medical Association organized the International Congress “Skin Changes and the Face, ” together with a regional symposium, “Faces: Old and New, ” in cooperation with the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology and the European Society for the History of Dermatology and Venereology. The Congress was held in Catvat, a beautiful summer resort that boasted perfect autumn weather. About 150 participants from 12 countries were present. Although many invited speakers and participants canceled their trips because of the tragic situation in the city of New York just before the Congress there were many very interesting lectures, which covered six main topics: acne, fungal and other infections, rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis, pigmentation disorders, skin tumors, and inflammatory dermatoses. The regional symposium, called “Faces: New and Old, ” immediately preceded the International Congress. At the end of the international congress “Skin Changes and the Face, ” Prof. Jasna Lipozenčić, the Congress President, thanked the faculty for the success of the scientific program and invited the participants to attend the second Congress of Dermatologists entitled “New Highlights in Dermatovenerology, ” which was held in Opatija, May 16–19, 2002.
