Sažetak
Introduction After 3 years of experience in 3D conformal radiation treatment (CRT), we are in process of implementation of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). As a first step, comparison of IMRT plans with irradiated 3D CRT plans was done. In this poster we want to show our results. Materials and methods 3D treatment plans were done with conformal parotid sparing (CONPAS) method. IMRT plans were made with 5 or 7 field setup for Siemens Oncor Expression with 82 multileaf collimator (MLC). Siemens Oncor uses step and shoot IMRT method. All calculations were done on Elekta CMS XiO 4.62 treatment planning system (TPS) using multigrid superposition, minimum segment size of 2 cm and minimum of 5 MU. Planning target volumes (PTV) and organs at risk (OAR) doses were determinated and compared. Results Mean dose to the parotid gland and spinal cord were lower, PTV showed better coverage and maximum dose was kept inside of PTV using IMRT.
