Sažetak
The beginning of the aluminium industry in Croatia dates back to the year 1937, when a plant for alumina and primary aluminum production was first put in operation at Lozovac. Development continues in 1955 with a factory manufacturing rolled, extruded and finished products for use in the construction industry built at Ražine, and still further in 1987, with the opening of a die-casting plant. Up until the Patriotic Defense War the Croatian aluminum industry is estimated to have employed, directly, or indirectly, about ten thousand workers. Today, the number of employees is considered to be about three thousand.
