Sažetak
The United States (US) and the European Union (EU) have both developed comprehensive animal manure management and utilization regulations. Regulations in both the US and the EU consider manure storage, nutrient management, and land application. The US and EU are also similar in that fact that no single set of regulations governs all of the US or all of the EU respectively. In the US, state level manure management regulations are required to enforce the national level federal regulations, but they may be stricter than the national regulations. Similarly, member countries within the EU may choose to implement stricter regulations than those imposed by the EU. United States and EU manure management regulations are reviewed and individual sections provide an overview of permitting, manure storage, nutrient management planning and land application regulations.
