Sažetak
The neurotoxic effects of several commonly applied pesticides were assessed using earthworms as model organisms. For assessment of pesticide effects, different toxicity methods were applied – in vitro test and acute toxicity tests by following OECD guidelines. The results obtained using different methods showed some similarities, but also certain differences in measured responses. These differences should be considered when assessing pesticide neurotoxic effects using in vitro method. Although pesticides are commonly applied to soil surfaces, due to runoff and leaching they easily get to water bodies posing a threat to aquatic environments.
