Sažetak
In this paper we have learned what phonetic sytems are, the basic principles of the IPA and the respelling. We learned what diacritics are and what they are used for. Both respelling sytems and the IPA have their advantages and dissadvantages. When regarding the use of the diacritics, it is obvious that respelling system does not give very much importance to the usage of diacritics. IPA has a very wide list of diacritical smbols which are used in the process of transcription. Even though the symbols for diacritics largely differ between these systems, there are some symbols that are of the same or similiar shape and use.
