Sažetak
Significant changes occurred in the power sector in the last decade. Implementation of electricity markets, as well as the large scale penetration of renewable energy sources with variable generation, changed power system control dramatically. Consequently, Transmission and Distribution System Operators started applying advanced transmission technologies based on information-communication solutions. These technologies increase capacity, efficiency and reliability of existing and new grid elements and vary from one electric power system to the other. Considering expected development of electric power systems, innovative technologies have been sub-grouped into the four main clusters: Passive equipment ; Active equipment ; Real Time system monitoring equipment (RT) and the Impacting TSOs0' and DSO' Operations equipment. In paper innovative technologies are described with emphasis to their influence on power system control.
