Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to analyze the characteristics and the language of the LOLcat meme. For this purpose, a corpus of 100 LOLcat memes was compiled. A thematic analysis showed that there were three reoccurring types of memes in the corpus, dubbed Evil Cat, Cute Kitteh, and Silly Cat. In addition to thematic characteristics that bring them together, the three groups differ in the characteristics of LOLspeak that they exhibit.
