Sažetak
This paper provides an overview of efforts invested by the Government of the Republic of Croatia towards institutionalizing consultations with the interested public as essential prerequisites of effective formulation and implementation of public policies. It is due to employing a variety of measures and policy instruments - adopting clear strategic and policy documents, ensuring solid policy coordination structures and procedures, appointing civil servants responsible for conducting public consultations, running systematic training programs and monitoring of the performance of all government bodies in implementing the adopted consultation standards - that a gradual progress can be observed in regard to embedding the culture of open and inclusive policy making in Croatia.
