Sažetak
On the basis of the analysis of the baptismal registers and ledgers of the Dubrovnik foundling home, as well as other sources kept mainly at the State Archives in Dubrovnik the godparents' network of the Dubrovnik foundlings from the late seventeenth till the mid nineteenth centuries is examined. The presence or absence of godparents, their number and social background as well as their role in creation of the foundlings' identity are analyzed.
